Experience MexECO Tours offers you the opportunity to go on guided horseback tours of the countryside, the mountains and the beaches around Melaque, Barra de Navidad, and Jaluco.

Experience of horseriding is not necessary, and whether you are able to canter and gallop like an expert ‘vaquero’ or trot along as a beginner, we have something for you. You will be accompanied on a horse riding tour with a local guide/expert horse handler on a variety of expeditions. Bilingual guides are available upon request. You can choose between a range of horse riding routes that take place during the early morning or the early evening (to avoid the midday heat):

On horseback you will follow a route along the 4km stretch of beautiful beach that curves round from Melaque to the end of the bay, at Barra de Navidad. This tour then leaves the beautiful beaches and passes through the charming town of Barra de Navidad, and then progresses up the peninsula of Barra towards the town of Jaluco. The trek then circles back to Melaque through the lush countryside and abundant plantations of Jaluco. This tour allows you to experience the delights of both beach and countryside.

This tour is ideal for horse riding beginners. It is a relaxed trek through the plantations and farmland behind Melaque. Passing by tomato, banana, mango, coconut and melon crops and small local farms reveals the agricultural heart of this area of Mexico. This trek visits areas that are rarely experienced by visitors and holiday-makers. The tour then weaves its way back to Melaque.

This tour makes a path through the mountains and verdant countryside that lies to the North of Melaque and continues towards the beautiful beach of Cuastecomatito before circling back to the starting point of the trek in Melaque This tour allows you to visit some of the most secluded and beautiful locations in this region.
