Join Experience Mex-ECO Tours on one of our fun-filled trips to the home of Mariachi and Tequila, and Mexico’s second most populous metropolitan area. Our regular tour takes you to the historical centre of the city of Guadalajara, as well as a trip on the famous Tequila Express and a visit to the shopper’s paradise that is Tonalá. We also offer tailor made trips for groups (minimum 6 people) for those of you who would like to see other parts of the city (please contact us for more information).
Day one of our regular tour begins at 7am, departing from Melaque and including pick-ups in Manzanillo and Colima. On arrival to Guadalajara we will check in at a central hotel before heading out for lunch and a city centre tour on foot, before enjoying a delicious meal with mariachi music.
On day two of our trip we board the Tequila Express for an entertaining ride to the town of Amatitán, where we head to the Hacienda San Jose del Refugio to learn about both historic and modern day methods for the production of Tequila. Along the way you will be entertained with traditional music and dance, served a delicious lunch, and given interesting information from a local guide.
The final day of this trip is spent in the municipality of Tonalá, where vendors get together to sell handicrafts, furniture, pottery and much more to buyers from all over the country. This is a great place to buy some bargains for yourself or traditional gifts to take home for friends and family.
