Experience Mex-ECO Tours was established in 2005 to support local community and conservation projects through short trips from the Costalegre area of Mexico. Whilst still supporting such projects, including Campamento Majahuas Sea Turtle Conservation Program and the indigenous women’s cooperative, Color de la Tierra, at the Cuzalapa Coffee Plantation, we decided to broaden the range of trips offered to our clients, allowing them to see more of Mexico’s highlights without all the hassle that comes with planning a private trip.
Experience Mex-ECO Tours is now the largest tour company in the Costalegre area, offering several multi-day tours and a new tour each season. We have hundreds of clients who return each year to the Costalegre and Riviera Nayarit during the winter months and choose to travel with Experience Mex-ECO Tours. We pay special attention to client care and each of our tours is accompanied by a tour leader and a local bilingual guide.

Even though I live in Mexico year-round, I never get to some of the places I would like to see. But Dan and Ruth always come to the rescue. It was through their tours that I was introduced to Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Morelia, Pátzcuaro, Mexico City, Copper Canyon, and Chiapas over the past three years.
I am not a big fan of bus tours, but Mex-ECO makes the most of the method. The stops are always interesting. The tour guides are well-read and always maintain an appropriate narrative. The hotels are first rate. Bus tours are designed to be the Whitman’s Sampler of travel. A good introduction to places worthy of future visits. As a result of my bus tour visits, I have returned to the highlands during the past two summers, for longer stays. Dan and Ruth have introduced me to a world I may never have experienced. – Steve Cotton
We have been on many tours with Dan and Ruth of Mex-Eco tours based in Melaque, Mexico. We have always had amazing adventures throughout Mexico whether climbing the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon and enoying the paintings and life of Frieda Kahlo on the Mexico City trip, walking through the jungle after viewing the incredible ruins of Palenque and swimming up to gorgeous waterfalls on the Chiapas trip, to counting butterflies on the Morelia trip and wandering through Oaxaca City and the ruins of Mitla on their Oaxaca trip. Dan and Ruth work diligently to ensure each traveler has a safe and wonderful time, and always share their outstanding and very unique knowledge of each area visited. Before each trip is announced, Dan and Ruth have been to the area to explore and learn about the people, their culture, and the surrounding areas. They know the best places to eat, explore and experience. You will not be disappointed when traveling with Dan and Ruth from Mex-Eco tours. Be ready for fun, companionship and always an amazing adventure! We are already signed up for their new tour to Merida, Tulum, and Chichen Itza in February 2014. – Leigh and Barry Vincent
